Happy amongst the chaos

Once again coming back to where the “in pieces” series started – just make something. Sometimes I have fleeting moments of bliss, where every part of me feels aligned, connected, in sync. The sketch for this piece came to me in such a moment.

With no road map, no expectations, no plan on where to go, I let myself enjoy the process, in the here and now, floating blissfully.

I love when I surprise myself in my own art – realizing that the piece very much comes out how I felt in that short moment of time. I’m not sure if it comes through, but I can see myself in this one, like in many other artworks, pretty clearly. Art is like a photograph somehow, in it’s own very special way.
