A visual metaphor for connection
At it’s core this piece is about self-recognition and self-respect. It reminds me to look at myself – and who I am – with compassion and love. It’s not about perfection, but about being real with myself and learning to stand strong from within.
The whole process is a balancing act. The slightly humorous way the characters are depicted adds a sense of lightness that I quite enjoy.
I sometimes forget to hold myself up, lose sight of who I am and find myself slipping into judgement rather than responding with respect, care and forgiveness within.
